Hi There
The one where I sneak in like I never left
Hello Hello…
I know, I know. This was not the plan, but me sef I have tried.
I had a good October, but while doing my dump, I felt like I had blurred the lines between my personal life and the bookstore, and I am not sure how I feel about that.
So going forward, apart from really hilarious things that happen in the business. I will keep all business talks away from here.
Anyway, funny story on how I missed a flight in October.
I had it all planned out… I set my alarm for 4:00 am with hopes of getting to the airport before 6 am for the 6:30 flight. To date, I am choosing to believe that the alarm never went off because what do you mean, Hannah slept through an Alarm? I know Onyinye will laugh thoroughly when she sees this.
Anyway, I woke up by 6:07 am and did not know whether to laugh or cry. picked up my phone to realise that different people were trying to call me but good old DND did not let the calls come through.
I dashed out of the house and started praying that the flight will be delayed. In fact when I called my friend Shimi to let her know I was most likely going to miss the flight, she asked what airline and she quickly said “oh those guys have a reputation of delaying flights.”
But guess what, of all days to leave early, they chose that day. Anyway long story short, I was able to get on the next flight and I got to Abuja in one piece.
Moral of the Story: Leave DND Alone. Hopefully, I will take my advice.
I had a good time in Abuja. I danced and reconnected with friends. I did not see everyone I hoped to, but if you know me, something will always bring me to Abuja.
I am about to go a bit deep now.
In October, it dawned on me that I might have lost a friendship forever. I have different people complain that their friends moved countries without mentioning and my default response is “you guys aren’t that close.”
For me, I had the feeling, but I was like naah, my friend will definetly mention. But out of the blue one day, I asked and it was confirmed. It felt like a punch to the stomach. Ok, Ok maybe not that serious.
Anyway, maybe this was life letting me know that I can not eat my cake and have it. I am not sure this is the proverb for this, but you know what, it is what it is.
That’s the end of this wonderful rant.
